Art Walk Projects introduces a new annual journal series with this first publication reflecting on the residency projects produced during 2022-23, including SALT, PORT and DELUGE.

The publication includes chapters on the four SALT residencies (artists Mahala Le May, Joanne Matthews, Tonya McMullan, Natasha Thembiso Ruwona) along with commissioned new writing in response to each, developed in partnership with MAP Magazine over the past year. Writers commissioned: Harvey Dimond, Sean Wai Keung, Rowan Lear and Jan Uprichard.

Texts from Art Walk Projects founder Rosy Naylor, editor Tom Jeffreys, and ecologist Sofie Spatharis who discusses the impact of salt on marine life, are also included.

The editors of MAP would like to thank Art Walk Projects, founder and curator Rosy Naylor, editor Tom Jeffries, SALT’s resident artists and commissioned writers, for the opportunity to publish this perceptive, inquiring group of texts.
