On behalf of MAP, Glasgow-based curator and writer Louise Briggs has invited Canadian artist Megan Rooney to present a major new work that will offer readers a series of concurrent interactions throughout coming months.
Megan Rooney’s work includes painting, performance, written and spoken word, sculpture and installation. Her work is often populated by soft-grotesque figures all limbs, hair and eyes that navigate a slippy space, one that appears playful and romantic yet also strange and repulsive. These figures lurk on the periphery of written and performed narratives.
For this commission, Rooney will create a mise-en-scène with writing at its core; an over-arching narrative that connects performance, publication on and off line, audio broadcast, film and sculptural installation. Project DatesPerformance: Saturday 30 September
