Suzanne van der Lingen, ‘How to Fake Your Own Death’, 2015, 7’26”

In ‘How to Fake Your Own Death’ Suzanne van der Lingen uses autofiction and footnotes to explore themes of repetition, authenticity and mortality. Originally published as an essay, the text has evolved into a video work, making narrative use of disjointed parallels between voice-over, image and onscreen titles.

‘How to Fake Your Own Death’ will be presented as part of Modern Edinburgh Film School‘s ‘Ripples on the Pond’ double-screen installation and discussion event on Thursday 17 September at the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow.
