The Northern Hemisphere 2021 Equinox happens at 17.21pm GMT on Wednesday 22 September, marking the moment when night becomes longer than day. Autumn. The spring and autumn equinoxes mark the two points a year when the northern and southern hemispheres are illuminated by the Sun equally.

In alignment, this short MAP season steers us towards our upcoming year-long 2022 commissioning project, introducing two new MAP commissioning editors and including a fresh reworking of MAP’s navigation and archive material online. We look forward to introducing both plans and people very soon and in the meantime bring you a burst of celestial material that highlights the many opening ups and new beginnings ahead.
