Lover of Rock by Joanna Peace
Text developed as part of a MAP writers' residency supported by Playwrights' Studio, Scotland.
'Lover of Rock' is the first extract of a text-based performance to be developed throughout 2015, supported by a Creative Lab Residency at the CCA Glasgow in May, and the Interdisciplinary Residency at Hospitalfield Arts in August. The next stage of the project will be shown in the group exhibiton This house has been far out at sea, 1 - 4 May, Laurieston Arches, Glasgow, part of Open House Festival 2015.
The audio recording, which features Peace reading a slightly altered version of 'Lover of Rock', was made in April 2016 as part of 'Voicing the Archive'; an installation of readings from MAP's archive at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop (April - August 2016) and Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow (May - November 2016), presented as part of Footnoting the Archive.
